Addressing a Personal Need
Animal Ambulance was born out of a personal need. In 2007, Andrew, the founder, faced a challenge when his pet, a West Highland Terrier named Indi, needed surgery and intensive care for 10 days. Indi's regular vet did not offer 24-hour care, so she had to be transferred to a 24-hour animal hospital for overnight observation. This experience highlighted the lack of a reliable and comfortable medical transport service for animals on the Gold Coast.
Establishing the Organisation
After thorough research and consultation with local vets, Andrew decided to establish Animal Ambulance. The service officially started in 2007, providing 24-hour transportation for sick and injured pets. Our goal is to ensure that every pet receives the best possible care and attention, regardless of the time of day. Regular transfers posed a problem for Andrew, as there was no Gold Coast service offering safe and comfortable medical transport for animals, like most busy people.

Animal Ambulance operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, as a pet ambulance service for pet owners. We are based at Broadbeach on the Gold Coast and are not affiliated with any veterinary practices. Our ambulance is equipped with all the necessary equipment to ensure the safety and comfort of your pet during transport. This includes medical oxygen, first aid supplies, fluid therapy capability, and safety restraints. We strive to make your pet's ride as stress-free as possible.
